Zanfirico with amethyst reticello in blown glass, with zanfirico rods.Around 1830 the Venetian antiquarian Antonio Sanquirico entrusted the production of some "filigree" glass of past centuries to old Murano masters. At first called "glass of Sanquirico" or in the dialect jargon "sanquirici". They became "zanfirici" little by little, for correction. Historically, "zanfirico" indicates the "twisted filigree". Over the years, Venini developed this technique, obtaining the "twisted filigree" with multiple threads.
